Passengers on board a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Auckland, New Zealand to Honolulu, Hawaii were able to celebrate New Year’s Day twice, due to a departure delay.

Flight HA446 was scheduled to push back from the gate in Auckland at 11:55PM on December 31st, 2017, but due to a 10 minute delay, they were wheels up just 5 minutes at 12AM on January 1st, 2018.

Due to the 23 hour time difference between New Zealand and Hawaii, the 9+ hour flight touched down in Honolulu on December 31st, 2017 at 10:11AM!

As a result, the passengers on that flight were able to celebrate New Year’s Day twice in two different countries.
