It’s an end of yet another month and web statistics are in one again.
NetMarketShare is reporting that Chrome is once again the champion of the web, even though browser trends are pretty much steadying. Chrome barely gained any market share, going up 0.36% from last month. However, they can boast that this is the highest they’ve been on the charts at 59.36%.
Looking back three years ago, the statistics were in reverse where IE was on top (over 60%) and Chrome was just beginning to gain market share.
As more computers slowly join the Windows 10 race, Internet Explorer continues its sad decline down to an all time low of 17.55%. However, even with Microsoft’s push for Edge usage, it’s now flat lined at just 3.56% of the market share.
Firefox on the other hand is once again struggling to gain market share as they’ve now leveled off in the 11-12% range. At the end of May, they had 11.98% of the market.
It will be interesting to see how the market shifts as both Chrome and Firefox are in the final stages of launched VR and AR capable elements within its browsers.
