It looks like Google may be following in Apple’s footsteps by not including a traditional 3.5mm headphone port on its next Pixel device.

According to new CAD renders provided by @OnLeaks, it appears that the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will not feature a dedicated headphone jack, but rather only have one port at the bottom (USB-C) which is expected to handle all functions including charging, file transfers, and audio.

Google may also be pushing for the idea of using wireless headphones over Bluetooth, similar to what Apple did with its AirPods.

Besides this, the estimated phone dimensions were also revealed as follows:

  • Pixel 2 – 145.3 x 69.3 x 7.8 mm (8.2 with camera bump)
  • Pixel 2 XL – 157.6 x 76.3 x 7.9 mm (8.6 with camera bump)

There also appears to be quite a bit of bezel on the sides (similar to the first Pixel), unlike competing products which already feature edge-to-edge displays. Here are a few renders of the Pixel 2 XL.

Both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are expected to come in a variety of bright solid colors, besides white and black.
