Monalisa Perez, a 19-year old family vlogger from Minnesota, has been charged with manslaughter after she accidentally shot and killed her 22-year old boyfriend, Pedro Ruiz III, while filming a video.

The pair were trying to take their channel to the next level by performing a very risky stunt.

Ruiz had convinced Perez to shoot at him with a Desert Eagle .50 caliber pistol while he held up a book in front of him to see whether or not the book would stop the bullet.

Unfortunately for Ruiz, even though the shot was on target, the book did not protect him.

Perez immediately called 911 around 6:30PM on June 26th stating that she had shot her boyfriend. When emergency personnel finally arrived on the scene, they pronounced him dead, reporting a single gun shot to the chest.

Ruiz’s aunt commented on the situation, saying that she tried to talk the couple out of doing it, but said they were persistent as they were trying to get more views for their channel and wanted to become famous.

Perez, who is now out on bail, is pregnant with the couple’s second child.

Their last channel video highlighted their plans for the stunt, and included a section about Perez imagining what it would be like it they hit 300,000 subscribers

We wish we could say this was something out of The Onion, but unfortunately this is the reality of the situation.
