Someone used a drone to catch Pokémon in Pokémon GO

Where there is a will, there is a way.

Tumblr user perchbird posted his attempt at catching Pokémon using his phone, a drone, and his laptop for remote control.

He attached his phone to the base on his quadcopter, and then play the game remotely via an app called AirDroid. It allows you to mirror your phone’s screen onto your PC over WiFi.

It’s unclear how successful he was, but it definitely seems like an interesting idea especially for catching Pokémon in places not easily accessible. It would be cool to see how a similar set up could be used with wireless data over WiFi given that drones have a very long signal range from its base station.
